You are the light of the whole world
Every pupil has been set up with an Office365 account, meaning that whether they are learning in school or at home, they have access to everything they need to continue their learning. Office365 is a collaborative learning platform, which allows pupils and teachers to interact, to see and chat with each other. Teachers can set assignments, upload resources, work with the children during live sessions, respond to questions and see the work the children complete during the day, using the Teams app. This ensures that the vital communication between teaching staff and pupils can continue, even when Home Learning becomes a necessity.
Other apps give access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and One Drive.
Remote Learning due to COVID-19
At Sundridge & Brasted we use Class Dojo as a method of quick communication between staff and parents. Parents of children who are self isolating will receive information from their child's class teacher via Dojo Messenger. The class teacher will set the work first thing in the morning and will check in via Dojo messenger at lunchtime and again at the end of the day. Where necessary the class teacher, a member of support staff or our SENCo will phone home during the day to support the parent and child with any area of learning that they may need help with.
Government guidance requires that schools provide remote learning resources and support to those families who are having to self isolate due to a positive case of COVID-19 either in their home or because they have been contacted directly by the Test and Trace system. We would ask that parents contact the school office on 01959 562694 or email office@sundridge.kent.sch.uk as soon as possible if they find themselves needing to self isolate.
