Pupil Premium

The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.

Financial year 2023 to 2024

In the 2023 to 2024 financial year, schools will receive the following funding for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years:

  • Schools receive £1,455 for every primary age pupil, or £1,035 for every secondary age pupil, who claims free school meals, or who has claimed free school meals in the last 6 years.
