On the 20th September St Mary's church held a Heritage day in which Year 6 were invited to see the bells being rung and to learn about the belfry and what goes on in there. They were able to go up the 30 steps to the belfry and watch the bell ringers pull on the Sallys to get the bells playing. They learnt all about how they operated and that one of the bells was from 1619 - 400 years old! They also took part in a workshop and enjoyed the exhibition on the bells in the church. Below are some photos from the day.
