Year 6 tested different objects in and around the classroom to see which were electrical conductors and which were insulators. They found out that metal conducted electricity unless it was painted metal.
We investigated which type of cup was the best thermal insulator. We measured the temperature every five minutes and found out which kept the water hottest.
Elm and Cedar joined forces and conducted an experiment. They were given the brief ‘what material will keep a cup of water warmest for longest?’ The children had to come up with their own method, equipment list and results table. They worked incredibly hard and all children showed exemplary behaviour.
