Severe Weather
Every winter brings the possibility of snow and ice. Schools are often affected and it can be difficult to ensure that we keep the school safe and warm, with sufficient staff to care for the children. As a fundamental principle every effort will be made to keep our school open, even if limited numbers of children can attend.
We endeavour to keep the school open and running if at all possible. We recognise that it is important that our school remains open so that parents are able to work and children can continue to learn. We understand that for many parents, closure causes childcare difficulties and huge inconvenience. However, in the event of very severe weather conditions, where the health and safety of the children and/or staff would be compromised by the school being open, we may need to close.
If we do have to make the decision to close the school due to extreme weather conditions we will send out email and Dojo messages to let you know immediately. We will also post a message on our website www.sundridge.kent.sch.uk and advise Kent Closures www.kentclosures.co.uk. but please note that the KCC's site generally takes longer to register the information.
Please note: If the school is forced to close, Breakfast Club and Aftre School Club will also not operate.
You may be able to listen on line to.......
If you hear no mention of our school on the radio, please bring your children in as usual.
Should we need to close the school early during the school day, we will contact all parents via email and Class Dojo.
