Greek Day 26/09/19 (With photos and videos)

What a fantastic day we had today! We had so many laughs, produced some fantastic work and created memories! Firstly, we started off the day searching for leaves to create a head reef. We then wrote our names using the Greek language and answered some maths questions using Greek numbers. After break we split in half with one group doing some amazing baking and one group making clay sculptures related to Greeks. Some children made their mythical creatures, some made bowls and pots, and some just made some random Greek related objects. After lunch the children swapped around for these activities. Next the children sampled some Greek delicacies. They tried olives (although many did not like them!), ate the pitta breads they had made and dipped them into a wide range of Greek cuisine - including houmous, taramasalata and tzatziki. They drank Shloer and tried feta cheese! Finally, we went outside and did a Greek march. This was definitely the highlight of my day! We managed to put together a fantastic march using the spears from the previous week. Although this was tricky to put together, we thoroughly enjoyed preparing to go into battle! When the children went home I had the joys of cleaning up the classroom... Thank you to Mrs P and Mrs Harvey for helping me! It was in a state! I am going to sleep well tonight!
