Class trip to Hever Castle

We went to Hever Castle as part of our topic ‘Towers, Tunnels and Turrets’. We had a guided tour of the castle where the guide told us about the history of the castle and the famous people who lived in there. Then we went off to the ‘Think Tank’ for a workshop about a Tudors. We learnt about the social ladder of the Tudors and we split up into the class groups. Each of us had a hat that related to the class we were in and we were challenged to the line up in the order of class.

After lunch we had some free time. Miss Williamson had a go on the slide and zip wire. Mrs Stone was going to have a go on the slide but decided it may not be a good idea! We then had a walk around the outside of the castle and before we knew it, it was home time. Time flies when you are having fun!

A note from Miss Williamson

I am really proud of all the children for how they conducted themselves around Hever Castle. They asked brilliant, relevant questions and listened beautifully to the experts. They followed the safety rules of walking around the castle and the grounds really well. They were an absolute credit to the school. Well done Cedar Class!
